Things You Should Know About Job Searching

  • Do not apply every job you find on the job portals / newspaper / internet.

Only focus your search on jobs that you are qualified for. Sending out random resumes and cover letters is just going to be a waste of your time only. You’ll have a better chance of getting selected for an interview for roles you have done before.

  • Try not to apply for jobs you like to do but have no experience in it

This is especially important to know that if the advertiser have already indicated they are looking for an experienced staff, unless they indicate they welcome inexperienced or did not indicate experience level needed. You can try applying if the experience they are looking at is only 1 or 2 years.

  • Do not apply for jobs if the advertiser/s are looking for local employees

Your resume might not receive any attention from advertisers if they have clearly stated they are looking for locals or with permanent residence status to perform the job and you apply when you do not fit the requirements. This could potentially be just a waste of your time to apply.
